In a small flower shop on Skid Row, lovelorn Seymour discovers a strage plant. He names the plant Audrey II after his co-worker and the object of his affections. The plant seems to be failing to thrive, until Seymore discovers the terrible secret to keeping it happy. Meanwhile, Audrey has problems of her own. Her sadistic boyfriend stands in the way of her dreams of a happy suburban life.
As the plant grows and thrives, so does the flowershop. With the dissapperence of Audrey's boyfriend and the owner of the flower shop, Audrey and Seymore are busier than ever, but Seymore believes that their blossoming romance is the result of the growing fame.
Will Audrey and Seymore find happiness with each other or does the mysterious plant have ideas of it's own?
